Sorry, but Rugby hits arent even half as hard as AF hits.? The biggest R collisions rarely exceed 60 G's of force, and are generally around 10-15 G's. Lower end AF hits are usually around 30-50 G's, while big hits are often 150-200 G's. Collision is in AF's nature, game, practice, youth, hs, college, pro, backtard.

Wrong! in league you occasionally see hits with "one" player moving at top speed, but rarely do you see two, and they don't run very far. I don't know what Bucs games your watching: watch?v=HHjR1AvyHuE Like most R fans, you focus on tackles and what happens around the ball, AF happens all over the field, and only 10% of hits are tackles. Every statement I make is in response to some dumb comment? by a R fan. I've watched 20+ League matches, including State of Origin 2012 matches.

You are definitely talking up AF too much. I live in Florida, and regularly watch and attend Bucs games, and the hits aren't any different to League. Players running at full speed over 20m happens every couple of tackles in League. The plays are set up like that, so its difficult for them to not be. Defence is back 10m, and the runners with the ball will be 10m from the play the ball. I don't doubt you have seen lots of Union but from what you've said I question how much you have watched League ?

I watch League matches? too, it's just not the same. Contact still only happens with the ball carrier, and rarely if ever do you see 2 players run at full speed for 15+ meters then collide head on, which happens quite often in AF. Even in League, there are more rules for contact than AF.

I played Rugby, and have to agree with you, but Rugby Union and Rugby League are different. The regulations you talk about? are only in relation to Union. In Union, you must make an effort to have you arms around the player during a tackle, hence there aren't the "collisions" on AF. In league, you can lead with shoulders etc, so the collisions are virtually the same as AF. I never had the balls to play League... too many bad injuries.

In fact R has more than double the rules governing contact that AF has. 4th: R is full of stops and pauses, penalties, lineouts, etc. Only a handful of players are fully engaged, while the others wait. R players stand,? walk, or jog, over 80% of the time, and run full speed less than 8%. 5th: AF was plyd for years before the US new R existed. R merely made contributions, try zones, goal posts etc.

Let me pick apart your comment. 1st, half the hits in AF are "steel hard" helmet and pads crashing into flesh and bone, but even when it is pad on pad, the effects are still devastating, with hits measuring 150-200 g's, bones break and brains rattle regardless. You've clearly never experienced it. 2nd: Perhaps you didn't read my comment carefully, 90% of AF hits? are Blocks. I agree with you. I've never played football or a sport with pads, but after a year on my school's rugby team i can say that getting hit to the ground so hard without any gear but a mouth guard hurts like a bitch. You feel like you were in a car? accident after a couple hours.

a study was done by espn, yes football players hit harder but your pads take alot of the pressure off the body. but rugby players average 4 times as many tackles as football players.? and some of the hits in rugby, players are basically picked up and thrown to the ground. football players wear pads and rugby players dont. plus rugby is non-stop. so rugby is a more brutally sport. plus if it wasnt for rugby, there wouldnt be any football.

Rugby has Nowhere near the amount of hits, there are an average of 1200 collisions in an AF game.? 90% of AF hits are blocks, which the SS vid doesn't even mention. Just watch a game, it's clear to see.
