As much as I want Phillip Phillips to win, on the other hand I? don't. He is great and unique, and especially an incredible artist, but I don't want him to win. I don't want Jessica Sanchez to win either. If Phillip Phillips wins American Idol that means he won't have much of freedom on his contract and writing music as he would enjoy. It is better to write the own style of music that he enjoys than to be sucked into something he doesn't want, and not have much of a say. He deserves to win.

Sing w Jess sings??? I have not heard a good ballad since the ballad of Davy Crocket. It is a matter of taste. IMO that genre is saturated with singers with similar qualities. Not exactly what I want to listen to, so to me Philip is the best, although I truly enjoyed Joshua.. he will fill a void on the charts and he? will have a great career -- he just needs to tone down some of the screeching he throws in.

Phil cannot sing as good as Jess or Josh and anyone who denies that is lying to themselves. he has yet to do anything amazing on that stage. Im not saying that he hasnt had a few moments but come on, he is not the best and that is what the show is supposed to be about. People dont vote for the people u find attractive, vote for the best singer. The one who can sing any song not just the low tempo smooth songs. There is no way Phil could sing what Jess can. Did any one have the same problem that I had? I voted for 4 hours with 2 cell (LG verizon) and only exactly 500 calls went through for each cell. I know that when I voted for 2 hours in the past weeks, the count were 500 and never over. Not sure where you live mark72141, but most major cities, with large geographic areas, have municipalities within them, I live in San Antonio, TX and we have municipalities such as Alamo Height, Leon Valley, Balconey Heights... some of these might be as small as just a few square miles large, but most people who live there and mention where they live? to some outside of San Antono will say, San Antonio for ease of recognition.

I liked Jessica's performance better even if she only had a few days to prepare for it. Her voice sounds more soothing and angelic. Nothing against Charice, she has a powerful voice but if you compare Jessica's AI season and all the songs she's performed including her personal videos with Charice's work, Jessica's body of work and singing wins out easily. And I used to be a fan of Charice's back when Oprah and Foster were heavily promoting her. I still remember the story? about FalceVoice.

i think ppl dont realize that being a great singer? doesnt mean having the most technically perfect voice. being a great singer is based on how well you can convey the depth and meaning of a song. take the beatles for examples, timeless, legendary music, yet none of those guys had technically great voices. so while jessica does have the "better" voice, phillip is the better singer.

I like Phillip because he sings the style of? music I like. Jessica has an amazing voice. I loved her Aerosmith song. I liked Phillip's Home song better than Jessica's. I think? phillip is a very good, heartfelt singer. It IS a singing competition...but there's more to singing than just raw singing ability. I think Phillip is one of the more heartfelt singers ever on idol and i think that's why he's made it this far. I do agree Jessica has a? very powerful voice and deserves to be in the top 2, but i disagree with you saying ANY cafe singer can do what Philip can. That's so wrong on so many levels. I don't think many, if any, "cafe" singers can make it to the top 2 on american idol. Phillip is truly unique in my opinion. I've never heard a voice quite like his...however i've heard plenty of "jessicas." The biggest thing about Philip is his emotion. You feel every word he sings...I never got that with jessica.

It has been and will be for a very long time. That's why when a co-Filipino is doing so well internationally, they become our national symbol of hope (This sounds corny lol). Unfortunatly, the music industry IS limited (its too long to explain on here) but the industry has changed and is still changing (not necc for the best)..it really is sad but ppl interested in getting into the industry now days...smh its so different! I wish Jessica the best, and she may just make it BIG but (not just on talent alone)..its wayyy to much to get into however back to ur statment...the music industry IS narrow..and will only get narrower? if the consumers dond demand different!

The finale really should have? been Elise vs. Joshua. They were the only two with the ability to do slower, more intimate songs or go full out for a show-stopping performance. Last night's Phillip vs. Jessica match up was completely predictable and flat out boring but I guess that's what America wants. Slight improvement over last season's snooze-inducing hoe-down but that's not saying much.

if i was asked on top 8 night who should have gone, i'd say it should have been Hollie. but Deandre's days were numbered anyway, and i'm really happy we got to see Hollie improve the way she did. it was the best story arc of the season. and in the end she had some great performances,? so good for her! (but Elise and Skylar should have been the finale 2 no matter what... :))

well, i'm an Elise fan, so i don't care so? much either way.they both had some great performances that i enjoyed, and some that i really didn't care for. doesn't matter though- whatever you think about a contestant, they probably don't deserve the kind of hate that @musicmeans2rock is displaying. especially if it's directed to a kid, like Jessica. good luck to both of them. i'm sure they will do just fine no matter what. Volcano and Stuttering are my 2 favorite non-Elise performances this season.

Elise is from my hometown and when I saw her on Idol, I knew she would make it far. I really wish she would have won. It should be her and Phillip in the finale. They have the two most unique voices on the show. Elise's voice is beyond beautiful.? It gives me goosebumps. And I don't know why the judges said she picked a song that nobody knew because I know this song and it's not even in my generation. This performance, just like EVERY one of the others, is perfect! I can't wait for an album!
